Hair Removal
Waxing, Depilatories and Shaving are all temporary methods of hair removal. Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal process.
Waxing or Sugaring: Applying heated wax to the skin, applying a cloth/paper, and pulling quickly to pull off the hair. There are also honey based "waxing" products that do not need heating, just warming. They work in a similar way to the heated wax product.
Depilatories: All Depilatories contain the same chemical that actually disolves the hair. The most well known brand is Nair. Every brand contains the same chemical so the differences between them are: the strength of the chemical, the ease of use, and what the other ingredients in them do. We like best the Clean and Easy Hair Removal Cream with the special Roll-On Applicator.
Shaving: Some feel the re-growth after shaving is thicker but that is not so. It's just that the hair stubble has a bit sharper top as it has been cut. Re-growth from Waxing and Depilatories is usually softer and thinner as some damage has been done to the hair folicle itself.
Electrolysis: This is the process of passing a small electirc current into the hair folicle and in effect killing it so there will no longer be any hair growth. There are products on the market that mimick electrolysis, using radio waves, or conductive pads that charge the skin, etc. but to be most effective, a wire or "sylus tip" needs to pressed slightly into the hair folicle and a small current applied. The safest home electrolysis machine will use a simple 9 volt battrery for it's electricity, such as the Clean & Easy/One Touch machine right here. Safety first.
